Georgetown Men’s Basketball Coach Patrick Ewing Tested Positive for Coronavirus

Patrick Ewing, Georgetown men’s basketball coach and Hall of Fame player has been tested positive for COVID-19, the school confirmed on Friday evening. In a news release, Georgetown said Ewing, 57, is isolated and receiving treatment at a hospital in Washington.
Ewing is one of the most noteworthy currents and former athletes to contract COVID-19, a disease which has killed over 94,000 Americans in recent months. An 11-time NBA All-Star as a New York Knicks player, Ewing moved to coach in 2002, working as an assistant for multiple NBA teams before taking the Georgetown Head Coaching position prior to the 2017-18 season. During his three seasons at the helm, the Hoyas have compiled a 49-46 overall record.
On 5 August 1962, Patrick Aloysius Ewing was born. He is a Jamaican-American basketball coach and former professional player. So, he is the head coach of the men’s basketball team at Georgetown University. He has spent much of his career as the NBA’s New York Knicks starting centre. He has also previously played with the Seattle SuperSonics and Orlando Magic.
Ewing spent four years playing centre for Georgetown — in three of which the team won the NCAA Championship game. He names the 16th-largest college basketball player of all time by ESPN. He had a career at the NBA for seventeen years, predominantly playing for the New York Knicks. Also, he is an all-star eleven times and names to seven All-NBA teams.
