Nicki Minaj Unintentionally Embarrasses Cuban Doll For Butchering Her Lyrics

Nicki Minaj says she didn’t intentionally embarrassed Cuban Doll for butchering her lyrics on Skillibeng’s “Crocodile Teeth (Remix).”

Nicki Minaj’s Beam Me Up Scotty has been making strides in the industry, and along with fans and followers, other rappers have received the new release with positive comments and feedback.

Perhaps Cuban Doll is a big fan of the queen’s new release as on Saturday, May 22, she made a post on Instagram and captioned it with what she perceived to be a quote from Nicki’s remix of Skillibeng‘s “Crocodile Teeth”, an addition to the “Beam Me Up Scotty” mixtape.

The “Let It Blow” rapper posted a shot of her squatting in a bodysuit and heels. “My type of gal wanna know da opps out,” she captioned.

Nicki Minaj slid into the comments section of the post to correct the young rapper, typing out the correct lyrics.

“Might tek a gyal man, I know da opps out,” she wrote. Perhaps no offense was taken by Cuban Doll as she edited the caption and basically went on with her day.

“Beam Me Up Scotty” was released on all streaming services for the first time last week. The “Moment 4 Life” rapper added three new songs to the mixtape; “Seeing Green” ft. Lil Wayne and Drake, “Fractions,” and a remix of Dancehall artiste Skillibeng’s hit record “Crocodile Teeth.”

While it is not new for the Trinidadian rapper to tap into her Caribbean side in her songs, perhaps it is the dialect that sparked the confusion for Cuban Doll.

Nicki Minaj later clarified that her intention was not to embarrassed the young rapper, but just to correct her. “I hope y’all know I love Cuban,” Nicki wrote on her IG Story. “I was having fun w|her. I don’t try 2 embarrass ppl I f** wit. That’s corny. I’ll never correct a lyric ever again chile. Boom.”

Still, the Barbz are making a big deal of the mishap, exclaiming that Nicki’s lyrics were butchered by the 23-year-old rapper.

“If you don’t understand patois just use another verse bc girl,” one person suggested. Another adds, “Just archive the whole post,” while another ordered, “Say my queen lyrics properly or don’t say it at all.”

Cuban Doll was quick to make the corrections, and has so far made no comments on the issue.
